Foreign culture studies

In the age of globalization, it has become incredibly important to study how foreign cultures impact societies. The International Research Center has published multiple articles and book chapters, which explored the themes of transcultural flow and mediated culture. We look into fandoms of foreign cultures, particularly Japanese culture and Korean culture fandoms, and try to understand fans’ practices, identities, and influence.

The International Research Center arranged an International Conference on Korean Culture to engage students and scholars researching foreign cultures. The Center signed an MOU with Kyung Hee University at the conference to carry out Korean culture research.
