Partnership for sustainability
26 July 2021, Monday at 5:30 PM Bangladesh Standard Time; SDGs Action Research Center at SIMEC Institute of Technology along with IDEA have jointlyorganized a public talk on the “Partnership for Sustainability”.
Professor Dr. Dora Marinova, Director, Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute, Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia delivered the keynote speech. In her presentation, Prof Dora emphasize on effective partnership for achieving SDGs in the pandemic affected world. She says, to overcome the challenges in the new world order after the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no alternative to a pro-poor public-private partnership. Prof. Marinova, a globally acclaimed author and researcher of sustainability states that Bangladesh is the only country in the world where the gender gap is in reverse.……
Former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister and former Principal Coordinator (SDGs) Md. Abul Kalam Azad says, Bangladesh has taken various initiatives to localize SDGs and having effective partnership between private and non-profit organizations.
Kazi M Aminul Islam, Retired Executive Chairman, BIDA; Retired Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office & Chairman, Innovation and Development Associates (IDEA) Foundation says, in the coming days, we need to think of community networking and renewed policy for implementing SDGs as the pandemic has had an adverse effect to our overall development.
The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, President, SIMEC Institute of Technology and Dean, College of Engineering Technology, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology and moderated by Dr. Ratan Kumar Roy, Program Coordinator, SIMEC Institute of Technology and Editor-in-Chief, SDG Newsletter.
Many scholars, policy makers, government officials participated in the public discussion and expressed their views on the need of partnership for sharing knowledge, ideas and information in the difficult time and for achieving SDGs for ensuring a better world for all.
